Weaving Solstice with Christmas, by the light of a crescent moon: 18 December 2022.

In this podcast, I offer a weaving together of the Christian’s Christmas with the Pagan’s Winter Solstice, in service to all.

The longest night of the year, this year, will end with a waxing crescent Moon rising in the east at sunrise, diving headlong into the Sun. This will be exceedingly difficult to observe! Just before dawn, the Moon will rise in the east, but with the Sun’s light so close behind, vanish quickly into day.

This month’s dark Moon occurs just before Christmas, on the 23rd of December, and two days after the Winter Solstice ~ the longest night, thus this lack of moonlight makes this particular Winter Solstice exceedingly dark indeed!

For those of us who love the night, this can be a time of inner harmony and delight ✨ But when we don’t understand these celestial coincidences, when we are told we should be celebrating and full of light and life and joy and we’re not, the dissonance can be maddening.

So let’s discern the living world together, shall we?

And from the reconnecting, from the reestablishment of animate resonance, may you find your peace this holiday season. May you find peace in the likely and the unlikely, may you be free and authentic and at rest in all of your doings and your undoings, and may the light of understanding this natural world, grace your hearts and your minds, in Christ Jesus and all the other Gods too.

In love and service, Eve.
